His charismatic and energetic performances have brought to worldwide audiences, fusions of three different countries in which he was raised: Israel, Spain, and England, filling concert halls with his famous guitar playing, ranging from flamenco flavored rhythmic and percussion techniques, to whirlwind finger picking, to a signature rock and roll sound. Broza unites the three worlds by utilizing his ability to take on the troubadour style tradition, featuring lyrics of the worlds' greatest poets.
Jamie Broza’s compositions and arrangements have been honored with four Emmy Awards. His first CD for children, “Bad Mood Mom and other Good Mood Songs,” made the Parents’ Choice Foundation’s list of the top 25 children’s CDs in the last 25 years. His follow-up CD, “My Daddy Is Scratchy” also won a Parents’ Choice Silver award as well as a NAPPA Gold award. He and his dad, Elliot Lawrence teamed up and co-wrote two musicals with Stan Berenstain, “The Berenstain Bears Save Christmas” and “The Berenstain Bears Onstage” which toured all over the United States.
When he is not writing music for kids Jamie composes for film and television under the name Jamie Lawrence. He penned the score for the film comedy “Bart Got A Room” starring William H. Macy and writes and arranges music for the Tony Awards Broadcast as its associate music director. Jamie produced the music to the feature film “The Ballad of Jack and Rose” starring Daniel Day Lewis and produced and conducted the score for “Music of Regret” starring Meryl Streep. In the documentary world he composed music for the HBO films; “The Alzheimer’s Project – Momentum In Science”, “Death on a Factory Farm”, “Dealing Dogs”, “Methandonia”, and “Shot in The Dark” -- directed by Adrian Grenier.
